It’s our last day here in Ontario today.
I will miss it here sobra.
I love the clean and fresh air. We experienced two kinds of weather, summer and autumn and I am in love with both.
Napakasarap ng weather dito. It’s not humid. It gets too cold for me pero keribelles.
Besides, hindi ako makakaporma ng ganito diyan sa Manila na hindi ako magmumukang eng-eng.
I get asked a lot if it’s nice here. My answer will never change. It is very nice here. Alvin’s relatives told us about how the school tuition for the kids up until they graduate in High School is free. Health care is free. Mataas ang tax nila pero you can really see where your money goes. Roads are very nice. Walang traffic. When they tell us that we are in traffic already here, I couldn’t believe it. They will not survive the traffic in Manila. Baka umiyak sila. Yung traffic nila dito, maluwag na maluwag pa for us.
I am not wondering why a lot of people wants to migrate here.
Do not make me start sa shopping dito. Wasakan ng wallet ang peg. OMG.
They have a lot of outlet stores. Yung Kate Spade, 60% off plus 20% off on top of that. Tory Burch, Nine West, Michael Kors, Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic, Pandora and a lot more stores are really on sale. And the sneakers and the rubber shoes? Heaven dito for the collectors. There are a lot of designs here that you cannot find in Manila!
Sa totoo lang, apart from my white sneakers, wala ako masyadong hilig sa rubber shoes. Pero mga bakla, when I got here, everybody’s in #athleisure. Yessss… dito ko lang din na laman ano yun. Almost everyone is dressed as if tatakbo sila. Lol. Ayun, nahawa ako. I got three new shoes na hindi wedges or heels!
I also learned and realized a lot here.
I learned na pwede naman pala paghaluin yung colored and whites in the washing machine. I love their washing machines here. Walang kahirap hirap. You put your laundry in the washer. When it alarms, you transfer them to the dryer. When the dryer alarms, finished na. Tupi tupi na lang =) Alvin kept on telling me that I should separate the whites. Okay naman. Wag mo lang hahaluan ng clothes a cheap. Hahawa yun for sure. Tested na that one here. Ayun, naging light blue yung ibang clothes ni Alvin.
Sorry.
I realized also here na pwede naman pala yung buhay na relaxed. Hindi toxic. Nakakahaba ng buhay. Though, hinahanap talaga ng katawan ko yung stress. May topak kasi siguro ako. Nevertheless, they are more relaxed here. There is more time with the family. That’s what I love.
Also, I learned that nakakapag-bond talaga ang walang house help sa bahay. Nakakasira lang ng bait for me because I’m used to my two house angels. But after a while, I felt okay din na kami lang. We help each other out. Mauubos lang talaga ang laway mo kaka-utos kay Anika and Alvin to fix their things. Masasanay din siguro kami.
I also realized that Anika has too much homework and school work in Manila. The kids here have homework but not that much. Mas relaxed sila.
Na-validate ko din that hindi talaga ako pwede ng matagal na panahon na walang ginagawa. Masisiraan talaga ako ng bait. I palpitate. I need to do something like work or something to keep sane.
Nevertheless, employees really do need vacations. Nakakarefresh. I feel like I’m raring to go to work. Nakapag-charge. I’m dreading lang the make up study that Anika and I will do when we get back. She has three weeks of school work to go back to so she can keep up. Kayang kaya niya yan for sure.
Speaking, nasan na ba yung tutor that I was getting before we left? I have to note to contact her =)
You will not also believe how long you can take your maternity leave here.
One year!
One effin’, wonderful year of taking care of your baby!!!!
Eto pa, the paternity leave can also be that long! Pwedeng pwede! It’s really up to the husband and wife kung sasagarin ba nila or not pero it’s not frowned upon dito.
In my photos and videos, you can often see squirrels freely roaming around here. Ganun talaga dito. There are so many nice birds everywhere, racoons, skunks and other animals. They have a laws here kasi na very pro animals. You can’t hurt them. You can’t kill them. Halos para ka na din daw pumatay ng tao. They were telling me about this dog owner who left his dog inside his locked car in an open parking lot. Pagbalik niya ng car, nandun na ang mga pulis. The policeman made him sit inside the car with all the windows up. Tinanong siya “O how do you feel? Hot right? What if I bundle you up with tons of fur coat?”. Ganown.
If they are like that with their animals, imagine how nice their laws are talaga for their people. They really take good care of their people. When you’re driving and you pass by an accident on the road, you are required to help or at least stop and report it to the authorities. Hindi mo pwedeng daan lang? Pagmay nakakita sayo, huhulihin ka din.
And if we have Bantay Bata in Manila, they have the Children’s Aid Society here. This is an agency who makes sure kids are being treated well. You cannot leave a child below 16 years old alone in your house. If someone reports you, the Children’s Aid will come knocking on your door. If someone sees you hit your kid, patay ka, they will report you too. It’s not only the hitting. If your child brings a real looking toy gun to school, the Children’s Aid will have to talk to you. If you child is violent in school, kakausapin ka din nila. They will have to go to your house and see bakit ganun yung bata. In short, you will not want to have the Children’s Aid people involved in your lives daw.
Astig di ba?
Osha mga bakla, I gotta go and finish packing.
I will post more of our Ontario trip. I will also let you know of our itinerary here. I noticed kasi that walang nagpopost ng Ontario itinerary online. It’s difficult to find. I looked for one before I left but I didn’t find anything. Thank God I have my Ate Eileen here and Alvin’s relatives to help me out.
I shall post it here soon! =)
Baboosh! See you Manila!
