This is also known as the Nightly Beauty Routine for the Tamad.
Much to Wowa’s annoyance, I do not take care of my skin as good as she does. If I were to follow Wowa’s routine, madaling araw na ako matatapos magpahid ng kung anik anik sa body and fez.
Joke lang.
The truth is I am so lazy, beh!
But we need to make an effort if we want to age gracefully like my mother. At least man lang, put on sunblock, wash face before sleeping and moisturize.
I’m gonna show you my nightly beauty routine. Eto na talaga ang pinaka-effort that I can do. Please do take note that I have dry skin and these products are hiyang to my face.
I read somewhere (and Wowa also told me) that we shouldn’t directly wash our face if we have make up on. Our make up will just lather with the soap all round the face. We should take off our make up using make up remover. I use Kirkland Daily Facial Towelettes.
I used to use Biore Rinse Off Make Up Remover. Number 1 daw siya in Japan. Okay naman siya but effort for me to rinse it out because it’s like oil. Eh tamad nga ako e di ba? Perfect these facial towelettes. I also have sensitive skin, mind you, so I cannot use products that have very strong ingredients. Humahapdi face ko.
That happened when I used a different brand of make up remover towelettes. Dito ako natuwa sa Kirkland na brand. No hapdi.
Also, this Kirkland Daily Towelettes are very effective in taking out make up. All you need is one towelette per day. I bought this in L.A. and I am getting stressed because I do not know where to buy them here in Manila after I run out of stock.
For my facial wash, I have tried a lot of different products. Dito ako hiyang with Simple Foaming Cleanser. I got this in SnR at BGC.
The other facial washes dries up my skin like the Sahara Desert. The others naman feel like parang hindi nalinis yung face ko sa sobrang “mild”. With Simple, ang sarap magwash face. It doesn’t dry up my skin and it doesn’t have a strong scent.
Whenever I feel like it (pero dapat daw twice a day ito depending on your skin type), I use my Clarisonic Mia facial cleansing brush. On the average, I use it 2-3 times a week.
I break out dati every time I use my cleansing brush. Mali kasi ginagawa ko. Brush galore for a long time. Dapat pala, when using the facial cleansing brush, you should only do your forehead, nose and chin for only 20 seconds each. And then, only do your cheeks for 10 seconds each.
Once a week, I do additional exfoliation. I use Cure or Tsururi, both are from Japan. SM is selling Cure already while there’s this online store that sells Tsururi.
After washing my face, I use SK II as toner. According to my pretty friend Trixie who has really nice skin and who uses SK II also, this smells like panis na laway. It’s true mga bakla but it’s very nice for my skin.
Mahalia ng slight but if you are going to decide on investing on something, I recommend SK II…
… and the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate.
I asked Wowa to buy me a bottle of SK II when she went to Tokyo last month. It costs daw parang around Php 10k. Nahulog ako sa upuan ko. She got kasi the biggest bottle (230 mL). You can opt to get the smaller bottle at around Php 8k for the 160 mL and around Php 3.5k for the 75 mL bottle.
The Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate costs around Php 2,000 plus. I had mine for a year na siguro. Apart from I don’t use it that often, you only need a small amount every day. A bottle goes a long way.
Lastly, to moisturize, I have also tried a lot of moisturizers pero balik pa din ako ng balik sa Physiogel.
Anika and I use the Physiogel Daily Moisture Therapy. It’s very mild and effective. Basic na basic talaga.
In the morning naman, I put on Celeteque moisturizer para hindi heavy. I put it on before I leave the house to go to work. And then all my make up have SPF eklaver to protect my face from the sun.
There you go. Those are the products na subok ko na talaga. I guess until siguro I find better products than these (if meron pa nga), I will stick to to this routine forevah!
