The other day, I attended one of the nicest wedding I have ever been to.
The wedding ceremony and reception was both held at Palazzo Verde. Ito yung Fernbrook dati. It was one of my choices for the reception venue back in 2008 when Alvin and I were planning our own wedding. I also remember doing the wedding coordination of the wedding of Dewmaine (aka Momster Teacher), one of my friends from way back. Diyan din ginanap yun eh.
That’s me and Dew in 2008. Her wedding was like a fairytale and she came to the venue in that royal carriage.
Fast forward to 10 years after, I’m back to the same venue in a Ralph Lauren dress that Janis lent me.
I felt really pretty in that dress. Janis was right. I didn’t have to buy a new dress that I will never wear again. Well actually pwede naman daw kasi she can borrow it too! Haha! Good thing I listened to her. Hindi na ako na-stress maghanap ng susuotin.
The ceremony started a little after 3pm. Ang init pala dun sa Palazzo Verde ng ganung oras. That is something you guys should consider when holding your weddings there. Jabar galore ang guests especially the men who were in suits.
I arrived just as they were opening the doors of the church for the bride.
Maganda na sana yung dramatic photo ko of the bride kaso kamusta naman yung mga black monoblock chairs sa background. Kaloka.
Anyway, the bride wore a gown by Jazel Sy. Hindi ko knowing ang designer (but apparently she is well known in the industy) and I have to say that the gown was breathtaking.
The wedding ceremony ended around 430pm. We proceeded to the area where the cocktails were. Albeit the fans that were provided sobrang init pa din. We were served cold drinks and snacks. We were allowed to go inside the reception area around 615pm. Grabe, almost 2 hours kami nag-antay sa labas. Jabar na jabar. Hindi ko alam bakit hindi ito naisip ng wedding coordinator. When they called us, nagmadali akong tumayo from the concrete steps that I was sitting on. My feet were killing me. Tiis ganda kasi the shoes that I wore. Lusaw na din my make up. Kailangan ko na magretouch.
When I entered the venue, I almost forgot my experience with the heat and the jabar-ness outside.
It was stunning inside the reception hall.
Flowers in pastel colors were everywhere! There were crystal chandeliers hanging in the ceiling. The table centerpieces consist of glass, flowers and candles. I’ve never seen a place so pretty and dramatic at the same time! Kabog kung kabog talaga.
Dave Sandoval daw yung event designer sabi ni Pineda. She saw my ravings in my IG stories. Si Mariah Santos kasi yung make up artist ng bride kaya she saw some of the photos too. Btw, dapat i-boto si Mariah as one of the Pilippine National Artists. Sobrang galing niya magmake-up heller. Ganda din ng TF niya but it’s super worth it.
Anyway back to Dave Sandoval, he’s amazing. Galing ng pagkagawa niya. Ang constructive comment ko lang is sana they didn’t make the presidential table centerpieces very high. People sitting at the back (like us) couldn’t see the happenings sa harap and we couldn’t watch the AVP and the band. But over-all, the decor was amazing.
I immediately started to look for the cake. It matched the bongg-ness of the place.
The program started around 730pm with Francis Day hosting the program. I love Francis Day! He was our emcee during our wedding and siya lang talaga ang ineendorse ko na wedding host. He’s really good and until now, he has not changed.
We were able to eat around 8pm. Imagine, petiks na kami from 5pm until 8pm. That’s 3 hours of waiting. Again, I wonder bakit hindi ito naconsider ng wedding coordinator. I wonder if the time table was taken up with the bride and groom during the preps. Although, we were served snacks naman and iced tea, the waiting time was really long! Pero of course, for the love of the newlyweds, we smiled and smiled and were genuinely very happy for the couple.
The prenup photos and the onsite videos shown were also jaw dropping! Napaka-galing. Camzar Photography for the photos and Notion in Motion for the video naman. Pineda said magaling daw sina Camzar and it’s true. True din that sa photos tayo dapat maginvest during momentous occasions like these.
I wish I brought my camera with me. Puros iPhone photos lang eh, hindi ko tuloy ma-capture yung real beauty of the place. I also wish I was able to take home the fresh flowers. There were pink and white tulips everywhere! Nakita ko yung isang lola, dala niya yung giant centerpiece of Ecuadorian roses! Inggit na inggit ako! I wanted to take them home so bad!
So nice my pre-loved Aranaz clutch =) I got it for only Php 500 in one of the bazaars I went to. Sulit na sulit.
Overall, I love the details of this wedding. It was one of the nicest weddings I have every been to. Lahat ng detalye pinag-isipan. Sumablay nga lang sa time pero apart from that, the whole wedding was beautiful.
Congratulations and best wishes to the newlyweds!
