If I can wear a uniform everyday, it will be like this.

I love that a T-shirt dress is every easy to wear. Iiba-ibahin ko lang ang color. Plus I love wearing sneakers nowadays. Ang mahal na bisyo nga lang collecting nice rubber shoes and sneakers. Lekat na yan.
Anyway, if there is one thing na pinagsisisihan ko is that I introduced Alvin to Facebook.
Before, when Facebook was still unknown to him, Alvin was super active at home. He would be super talkative. Inaasar niya lagi yung mga kasambahay namin. During his free time, lahat ng pwedeng butingtingin and ayusin sa house, nagagawa niya.
Now, it’s his cellphone that he reaches for the moment he wakes up. Remember my kwento na when I got out of the bathroom at 5:30 in morning, I saw him lying down and browsing Facebook? And then when he saw me, he shoved his phone under his pillow and pretended to sleep! Parang sira!
When he gets home from work, he’s on his phone all the time. If he’s not searching for a guitar lesson video in Youtube that he can copy, he’s liking all his friends’ posts in FB (except mine of course).
Before sleeping (in fairness after kissing me on my forehead and after patting my head), he will get his phone and watch videos or, again, like all his friends’ posts in FB. Makakatulugan niya na yun.
I followed him in Facebook. I get notifications on his FB activities.
One morning, on my way to work (that’s 6am, mind you), I saw that he liked his friend’s post. I called him. He answered the phone and his voice was super sleepy.
ME: Hindi ka pa papasok?
ALVIN: Natutulog pa ako Babe.
Natutulog?!
ME: Hoy Alvin. Lokohin mo lelang mo! Nagfe-Facebook ka na ang aga aga! Gumalaw ka na! Male-late ka pa!
Ilan ba talaga ang anak ko?! Yung totoo?!
One time, when we were in bed about to sleep, nagdrama ako.
ME: You know, I feel alone sometimes. Pag-uwi ko dito sa bahay, wala akong makausap.
ALVIN: Internet ka kaya din ng internet.
ME: Kasi wala akong magawa! Nakadikit sa mukha mo yang telepono mo lagi! Anong gagawin ko?!
Silence.
ME: Sana minsan tanungin mo din ako ng mga hopes and dreams ko sa buhay. Gusto ko lang may maka-usap sana after work.
Silence.
At this point, my back was at him and I was hiccuping. Naiiyak na din kasi ako.
Silence.
And then I heard a snore.
ANAK NG TIPAKLONG YAN!
Tinulugan ako?!
I didn’t mind him for three days.
Three whole days hindi ko pinansin.
Walang effect. Deadma.
Hindi na ako nakatiis.
ME: Hindi mo ba napapansin na hindi kita kinakausap?
ALVIN (in his phone): Huh? Bakit naman?
Classic.
Hindi ko siya pinansin for three days, hindi man lang niya namalayan.
And just the other night, I was making sermon to Anika for her low test grades in PE.
Yes. Physical Education written short quiz. Ang baba ng grade niya.
ME: Anika, you are not allowed anymore to use your Tab and my iPad! Wala ka nang ginawa kung hindi manood ng manood ng videos! Mag-aral ka! PE lang, ang baba pa ng score mo!
Anika was super sad after that. Nakunsensya naman ako.
Nagpatawag ako ng family meeting.
ME: Okay. So it’s like this. Anika you cannot use your Tab or iPad or any phone until January 1, 2017. You have to learn not to keep on using that thing. Mag-aral ka and maglaro sa labas. And for that, I will not use my phone also at home when you guys are here EXCEPT when I have to post something for the blog. Okay?
Anika nodded.
ME: And you Tatay? What will you promise?
ALVIN: I will promise to take good care of both of you forever.
Whut?!
ME: No about using the phone. Don’t use the phone at home too.
ALVIN: Nah… I swear I promise to take care of you guys very well.
I’m totally bringing him to a psychiatrist for social media and world wide web addiction.
I’m seriously thinking of hiding his phone from him kaso baka hindi makapagtrabaho dahil sa withdrawal symptoms.
May gamot pa kaya ito?!
