Anika’s 7th Birthday Trip Part 4: Universal Studios Singapore

There’s this someone special to me that I have not told you guys about. Her name is Hannah and she’s my childhood bestfriend. We lived in the same village and we were batchmates in CSA.

She’s not only close to me but to Alvin as well. In fact, even after Alvin and I broke up in High School, she remained close to Alvin too. She even calls him Kuya (Alvin’s older kasi than us).

She went to Singapore to work around 13 years ago, became Anika’s godmother, had her heart broken, moved on fantastically and have been living fabulously since. I’ve been seeing her only in social media because she doesn’t come to Manila often. As in once every blue moon lang talaga.

Right after we confirmed our Singapore trip, I messaged her that we were coming. Grabe, when she replied, chat galore kami! The last time I saw her was when I’ve just given birth to Anika. That was seven years ago! Grabeng grabe talaga.

She sent me tickets to Universal Studios Singapore. At first ayoko ko because all I wanted was to see her and for Anika to finally meet her face to face. But Hannah will be Hannah. She wouldn’t take no for an answer. Gift daw niya for Anika. Because I feared na baka sabunutan niya ako if I didn’t agree, I told Alvin na pumayag na din. Hahaha! But she had to agree that we were going to treat her for dinner that night too.

And so, we checked out from Legoland Hotel at 9am (right after breakfast). To be able to go to our hotel in Singapore, we rode the private car that I booked the day before in Legoland Hotel. It was more expensive at SGD 130. But since I’m all about traveling without hassle, gorabelles na. Ayoko na magrisk magcommute or to take the bus. We had a long day ahead of us. Sulit na ang bayad because we were traveling back to Singapore from Malaysia. We were comfortable in a Toyota Innova that took us directly to V Hotel Lavender.

We arrived at the hotel at 1030 am. I paid extra SGD 100 for early check in. I’ll tell you more about our hotel in the next post. We rested for a bit and changed clothes. At around 11am, we took the MRT going to HarbourFront and then took the Cable Car to Sentosa.

It was quite tricky how to go to the HarbourFront Cable Car station when you arrive at VivoCity. I asked a lot of people before we were able to arrive in the building where the Cable Car was. We walked for like 10 minutes from the MRT station to that building.

Tip lang mga bakla, ask people there questions to save time.

The round trip fare of the Cable Car for the three of us is around Php 1,300. From the Cable Car, which I totally recommend you take going to USS, we alighted at the Sentosa station. We went to find Bus #2 to take us to USS.

Finally, at around 12:30 pm, we arrived at Universal Studios Singapore!

We had lunch first at one of the restaurants and then we started going around.

There was wife EVERYWHERE Universal Studios and it was so pak ganern. Ang high tech lang kahit sa banyo ay may internet.

This was my outfit of the day. It was so fracking hot kulang na lang maglakad ako ng naka-two piece swimsuit. If I were sexing sexy talaga, I would have worn lesser clothes than this. Hahaha!

Alvin and I wished we were able to ride the roller coasters. I wanted to ride the The Mummy, Transformers and that thing where you are dangling on your chair and i-iikot ikot ka ng wagas until magscramble ang brain cells mo.

We said we’ll go back when Anika’s older or if maka-diskarte, kaming dalawa lang. Anika didn’t want to ride the rollercoasters eh. Most of them naman are bawal din siya so tiyaga kami sa mga kiddie rides.

We still had loads of fun though =) Thanks so much Hannah!

After buying some remembrance stuff, we went back to our hotel. We waited for Hannah so that we can have dinner.

You should have seen us when she arrived at our room. Maluha luha talaga ako! We were hugging and hugging each other! Imagine being super close to someone and seeing her after 7 years. It was amazing.

We had dinner at Makansutra and we had Chili Crabs and Cereal Prawns. Anika fell asleep on my shoulder so we just bought coffee and brought it up to our hotel room.

Nagkwentuhan kami until 2am.

Wild!

Hannah told Alvin about the time when Alvin brought Mama Mary este his ex-girlfriend to Hannah’s house one summer afternoon.

ME: I don’t remember that anymore.

Actually, it was embarrassing, binura ko na siya sa memories ko.

HANNAH: Ano ka ba! Di ba nandun ka sa bahay that day? Nanonood tayo ng TV ng mga kapatid ko (Hannah has two younger brothers). Biglang may tumatawag sa akin sa labas. Pagsilip natin si Alvin tapos kasama yung girlfriend niya!

I started covering my face as Hannah continued with the story.

Hahahahahaha!

Pakshet. Nakakahiya. Ang Sombrero, tawa ng tawa!

Hay naku! There were so many stories pa talaga. It was so nice going back to them and I missed Hannah so much.

We promised each other that we will see each other more often every time I go to Singapore. Alvin will frequent Singapore so they will see each other often too.

Hannah and I when she went to see us off at the airport <3

What Hannah and I went through can be summarized in this quote I saw at Pinterest:

“It’s been said that everlasting friends go long periods of time without speaking and never question the friendship. These friends pick up like they just spoke yesterday regardless of how long it has been or how far away they live, and they don’t hold grudges. They understand life is busy and love is there.”

To those of you who can relate, raise your legs!

I love you Han! Here’s to more meet ups and to our future travels together!
