Mga bakla, I am reading all your comments to my recent blog post, Jealousy Does Not Wait For Reasons. Tawang tawa ako sa mga comments niyo! It’s quite comforting to know na hindi ako nagiisang lokaret na ganito. Madami pala tayo! Apir!
I wanna add something to that entry because I realized something more. Madami pala tayong ganito so one, we can tell our husbands that we are not lunatics and two, somewhere in this world, malamang may isa ding lokaret na selos na selos sa atin. Hindi lang natin alam.
Right?!
Hahahaha!
Anyway, moving on from all the selos, may kwento ako ulit.
Before we left for our vacation in Canada last month, a popular TV show contacted me. They wanted to feature mommy bloggers in their show. Feel na feel ko na agad. I’m going to be on TV again! Gusto ko yan. When I asked them what we were going to talk about, they told me na magshare daw ako ng mga life hacks ko. “Anong life hacks?”, I asked them.
Yung mga kitchen hacks niyo or laundry hacks or how you keep your house clean hacks.
Ah.
Ano daw?
Naging choppy siya bigla.
Ehhh.. umm… Ang alam ko lang laundry hack is wag pagsamahin yung de-color sa whites! And I do not know how to cook!
Baka na-wrong number sila nung pagcontact nila sa akin?
Hahahahahaha!
Anyway, hindi din naman na-push because the shooting for the show was the time when kulang na lang eh ilabas ko yung kaluluwa ko sa banyo. Eto yung Cholera days ko. Lol.
Anyway, sometime the other week, one of my online mommy friends asked me if this certain TV show can go to our house to interview me for Anika’s bento baon. I was hesitant at first because I was shy. Comparing to other bento mommies, hindi naman ganun ka-bongga ang pabaon ko for Anika. Kung ano lang maisipan ko pagkagising ko. Ganun.
But my mommy friend was asking for my help. Hindi daw kasi pwede yung mommy that they were supposed to interview that day.
Osige na nga.
ME: Kelan sila punta?
FRIEND: Pwede mamya?
Agad agad pala ito eh. Tara. Let’s panic.
They told me if I can prepare 7 kinds of bento. They will film me daw while I’m making it.
Naloka ako.
I told them hindi keri.
Sige daw kahit 5 or 6 na lang.
I told them I can do only 3.
Mahirap gumawa ng bento on the dot!
I was in the middle of a meeting when they told me about the shoot. Sa gitna ng meeting ko, nag-gu-google ako ng mga bento design ideas. I was listing down the things that I think that I can do. I was able to list down 5. Yey. I left work early so I can buy the ingredients in the grocery.
I called Anika to tell her about it. I told her that the TV people also wanted to interview her. They want to ask her how it feels to have her bento baon prepared by her mom.
ANIKA: Ohhhhh my God, Nanay! I’m so excited!!! I promise I will do my best! I won’t let you down!
I made my own make up. Nakisali din ang bagets.
But because of the Friday traffic, the staff and crew were able to arrived at our house very late na. Borlogs na si Anika. I tried waking her up kaso ayaw. I let her be na lang. Ako na lang yung kinunan.
Here are the bentos that I did.

Bunny rice with star shaped SPAM and grapes

Mini pizza, Iced gems and Griffins Hundreds and Thousands Milk Bear cookies

Nutella and Arla cheese spread bread rolls as tic tac toe and heart shaped mamon

Rice, scrambled eggs and hotdogs

Hello Kitty rice, boiled egg and chicken nuggets

Piggy Cheese bread, cookies and grapes with marshmallows
I hope these were okay.
Pang malakasan yung ginawa ko. I don’t normally make these kinds of pretty bento. First, I don’t use lettuce as decor. Mahal eh. Hahaha! Although you can use naman other vegetables para hindi mahal. Second, I make sure na kahit umalog-alog yung lunch bag ni Anika, dapat hindi masira yung design =) But I do hope they will be able to learn something kahit konti. =)
