Before the month of February ends this quarter ends (hahaha!), lemme share with you the intimate dinner we had at home to celebrate my 40th birthday last January.
Sa totoo lang, I didn’t want to have a get together anymore. Initially kasi I wanted a big party di ba? Ewan ko anong nakain ko bakit parang I wanted na lang something intimate tapos magtravel travel na lang for my 40th birthday. Kaso I was lazy to plan na. My birthday naman kasi falls on the second day of the year kaya super busy from the holidays. Ayaw. Eh hindi ako tinantanan, pumayag na din ako on 1 condition: Hindi ako ang bibili and oorder ng sarili kong cake.
Ang sad eh.
Alvin agreed and wag daw ako mangsisisi if pangit ang cake. I said I would never do that kasi alam ko nageffort siya.
When I woke up from my nap on that day, I saw this. Kinabit ni Alvin.
Inuwi ko yung ginamit ng staff ko during the surprise merienda that they gave me =)
There was a hoobaloo sa cake ko. Good thing that my go to cake maker who lives near us accommodated us.
Thank you so much My Sweet Fairy for this delicious Tres Leches Cake!
As usual, for the food, I got the services of Mom’s Catering. I got them dati for Alvin’s 40th birthday, remember? Eh nasarapan sila and nagalingan sa service so I got them again. You can email them at momscatering@ymail.com. They’re affordable kaya love ko sila. Masarap na, reasonably priced pa. Here’s the menu list that I got:
5. Steamed rice
Tita Dolly, Wowa’s friend from way back, gifted me with this very soshal Grazing Table.
Grabe, it was so beautiful. She didn’t stop there. She also made me this bigger Grazing Table.!
Thank you so much Tita Dolly!
Here are some photos from that night. I only invited my best friends and family. That was one of my conditions with Alvin para pumayag ako magkaron ng birthday get together. Konti lang ang bisita. Closest of the close lang.
It was also a funny coincidence that all of my guests (except for my MIL), arrived wearing blue, white or black!
Tingnan niyo sa mga pictures! So galing! Akala mo they planned it pero super coincidence lang talaga. Inabangan tuloy namin lahat ng dadating and true enough, nasa theme sila.

Mabel and her hubby.. Mabel was my classmate in college. Sayang Aileen wasn’t able to come kasi may flight siya. Nagdadrive siya ng airplane.

This is Bing. She was my seatmate in 2nd year high school and we became super friends since. Napakabait ng taong yan.

You all know Pineda. My bestie since CSA grade school days.
Alvin gifted me with an acoustic band who played all throughout the night. Nagjamming jamming din sila afterwards. Later on, sina Alvin and his friends na lang ang naiwan.
I am actually thankful I had this get together. Now ko na lang kasi ulit na-gather ang mga bestfriends ko in one event. I missed them so much! Nakakatawa sila especially Vivian. Vivian is a riot. Hahaha!
I do not see them often but it’s okay. Although I wish I get to see them more, subok ko na sila that when I need them (or when they need me), nandyan ako and vice versa. Kawawa. Iba ang resbak ng mga ito. For me, those are the things that count in friendship. You may not see them all the time but you know among yourselves na nandiyan kayo for each other. And if you need advice and someone to listen to you, sila ang mga tao na go to ko.
Hopefully we can get to see each other ng mas madalas this year. Hindi ko naman sila masisi kasi busy sila with work and the demands of motherhood. Pero sana mas madalas nga =)
Thank you to all who came and celebrated with me!!!
